Please post your comments and suggestions on blocking spammers using periods in Gmail addresses to bypass public spam databases like BotScout, fSpamList and StopForumSpam.

I am testing this on a large site that regularly receives scores of blocked registration attempts each day (and very few actual registrations). So far, it's working well and has stopped quite a few Gmail spammers.
