Creating feeds in nukeFEED

Topic: nukeFEED(tm)

nukeFEED uses some powerful features to make creating a feed as easy as possible, and this preview shows how these features work, including linked selections and combo boxes.

Feeds can be defined for many types of content (usually associated with modules).  Each content type may have various orders in which the content may be presented at different levels.  nukeFEED linked selections to accomplish this.  For example, you might want to display recent or popular topics for all forums or for a specific forum.  Recent and popular are order types, and all forums (module) and forum are levels.  The figure below shows the levels for Forums content.

News content has different choices for order types and levels:

To complete the set up of a feed, you need to specify the number of items to show.  nukeFEED uses a drop down selection to make this easy.  However, it adds true combo box functionality by allowing you to override the number of items to be any number - not just those in the list.  See the cursor in the figure below?

As an update, we're working on the ability to define subscriptions (feed aggregators / readers), as well as developing additional content classes for use with nukeFEED.  After that, we hope to test compliance and validate various types of feeds.  It may take time, but we believe it will be well worth the wait.  Please provide comments and suggestions in the nukeFEED forum.
