You'll need to remove tinyMCE - I haven't done this, so I'm not sure what that involves.

I've avoided versions after 7.6 because of significant security holes, but I have played around with TinyMCE, and I remember that it was implemented to automatically take over all textareas (at least in 7.7 and 7.Cool. There is probably some javascript in an include/ directory file that still loads (or tries to load) TinyMCE.

That is exactly correct. Inside the includes/javascript you will find th e needed code you are looking for to remove the tinymice. I am currently removing tinymice and adding the fck editor. I will keep the topic going with each step. I am using the latest released from dadanuke 8.1.0.3.5

I know this is off topic but I have to ask...
WHY?
Why are you using phpNuke 8.1.xx when phpNuke is no longer being developed, is full of security problems.....
