The only file I can think of that holds DB info is config.php so lets assume that has not be renamed and therefore not a problem

Tables look fine so I'm at a loss (assuming the forums are accessible to anonymous)

I dont use RavenNuke unfortunately 
Well turning on 'display errors' in the config.php didnt show anything..
Not sure if i can do something else?

Yep Karma is installed, although i hardly use it. But the comments and karma have nothing to do with the forums as far as i know.
The feed for normal 'News' -articles is working fine

The only mod I installed is a 'prune (inactive) users' -mod, which i hardly use anyway and only required changes to the admin section.
At least thats the only mod that added 'bb' -tables ... |
