Fixed it myself. There is a bug/feature in KSES that see's tags that end with a colon as a protocol.

Therefore the fix is to add "color" to the allowed Protocols in the Mainfile.php as a ...

I have installed into PHPnuke 8.0 and all is working ok other than if I select a block of text and change its color this attribute is removed.
